Building the Buhurt Softkit Product Line: Gorg the Blacksmith did in-person research at the Oveida Mall before debuting new soft kits at Carolina Carnage.

Gorg the Blacksmith is a company built on passion: crafting foam-fighting sports equipment we truly care about—because they’re designed for the very games we actually play.

Doing hands-on field research to see how our creations compare and will be used is a staple to the gorgtech brand. Our softkits must be a good analog to your steel weapons. For the Gorg Team, making a good product is not just producing strong, reliable equipment—it’s about living the experience, testing our work where it matters, and enjoying it along the way.

In September 2025, Buhurt Softkit research and development took the form of sending one of our craftsmen to participate in steel fights in the Buhurt Ring at the Oviedo Mall Medieval Fair.

In February 2026, Gorg and Lady G debuted the new Softkit product line at Carolina Carnage in February 2026. They listened to what top-tier steel fighters had to say. Questions were asked to better understand what buhurt training looks like for fighters from all over America. Softkits should be similar enough in weight, size, shape and handling that they represent what steel fighting is really like.
