Compare 1/2″ Solid Carbon to Barbarian:
The 1/2″ Solid Carbon is more durable but slightly heavier than the newer Barbarian. This makes it less competitive in tournaments yet more resilient on the battlefield. The 1/2″ solid carbon core is more readily available than the custom-made barbarian cores (exclusive to gorg the blacksmith). The 1/2″ round solid carbon is only used for FLAT blades. If you want an omni, then you need the barbarian. Furthermore, the blade on the 1/2″ solid carbon has more foam with squared off corners. The barbarian features the tapered blade with less foam on the striking surface.
