2025 Spring Update
The 8ft carbon glaive is now built on the new gorg exclusive 0.625-in carbon core.
This new core is one solution for both 8ft flat and omni foam glaives. The core is custom-made in the USA, exclusively for Gorg the Blacksmith, for LARP sporting equipment. It is expensive… but it’s worth it because it’s crafted for our games from the inside out.
Raw materials shortages associated with the pandemic resulted in the unavailability of the classic gorgtech 8ft armored carbon core and the steep increase in price of the fiberglass bandshop poles. To solve these problems, Gorg launched the 8ft Omni Thin in the summer of 2024 and began testing the new Flat Blade Carbon Glaives in May of 2025. Also available on this listing is the “core only” option for you DIYers and a “custom” option in case you don’t want to do it yourself.
2024 Winter Update
Bandshop Companies no longer sell 8ft fiberglass bandshop poles. The price of 7-7.5ft poles is on the rise. Custom made carbon cores will replace fiberglass bandshop poles.
2024 Summer Update
The New 8ft Omni Thin is light and strong. Â It is a better product. Â We are so happy with the testing. Â It is the new Gorg standard for 8ft polearms.
As of July 2024, The Classic 8ft Carbon Omniglaive is DISCONTINUED!
We will NOT restock the classic 8ft Omni cores or Black Reblade Tubes. The replacement covers for discontinued items are only available for a short period after the item is no longer for sale.
2017 Update
Extraordinary new build!  We’ve worked hard to develop this high-tech ultralight omni glaive. The 8 ft Armored Carbon OMNI Glaive is built on a special core that is made exclusively for Gorg The Blacksmith.  Our first prototype carbon omniglaive was tested at Ragnarok 2016.  It was okay but not good enough.  We went back to the drawing board and are proud to announce that the new model released at Ragnarok 2017 was a huge success.

You wouldn’t expect great value at this price for a foam weapon, but that’s exactly what you’re getting. If you just want the core, the price tag is about right. The fact that you get Gorg’s excellent craftsmanship on top of this bad boy means you don’t have to worry about that thing going to waste. It just feels right – which is what you can expect when getting high end equipment from Gorg.

Glaive was great, used it briefly for a day event, after that the glaive wouldn’t pass weapons check at any event/practice. Don’t regret buying it since I’m planning on using a core for something else.

Just got my new 8 footer on Monday. Used it briefly in a small meet up and enjoyed it immensely. Out of thr box it feels great, hits like a beast and is super light when compared to the weight. Had full practice today 3/24 with my clan and used this the whole time. Resets after shots were super smooth and fast. Shot placements are easy. The control this weapon allows is second to none at the length. As said above “Gorgtech, buy it or die by it.”

Love the glaive, its hardy and most importantly its safe! I’ve locked hafts with people a few times already and I yet to have anybody complain about crushed fingers. Also it weighs just right, speed poles get pinned or pushed aside quite easily. Definitely worth it’s weight in gold!
