2025 Update
We are very happy with the design. Breakage is extremely rare. The balance and price are better than our competitors’. We’re stepping up our communication by adding up-to-date images and size comparison charts. We hope this information clarifies these different but awesome options.
2023 Update
Originally launched in 2021, these foam weapons are now tried and true. Everyone loves them. Many fighters purchase the 75-inch omni to use as a spear in amtgard. The 65-inch barbarians are now the standard dividing short-red and long-red tournaments in dagorhir and belegarth. The boffer weapon is called the barbarian because of its strength and durability but don’t let that mislead you on its weight. Across the board, the barbarian comes in at barely the minimum of 24 ounces for a red two-handed class 2 larp great sword. It’s light weight yet strong… the gorg standard!
The Reward
The barbarian blade is absolutely the best red tech we have ever produced. If yours performs as well as Gorg’s personal weapons, then it will last you a very long time and outperform every other great sword or glaive!

The handle left a bit to be desired but was an easy fix on my end. Plus that is ultimately personal preference. Other than that this bad boy is solid. Not too flexy not too stiff. Nice balance and super light. I also appreciate the easily removable cover. Has been my go to stick for red fighting.
